History
Marina Uno tourist port has been started in 1960
few hundred meters far away from the beautiful
and suggestive estuary of Tagliamento River.
Starting from an idea of Mr. Pier Paolo Dalmas
who thought to build Marina Uno on the sites
belonging to Comm. Riccardo Riva President of
SIL S.p.A., the construction based on a project
of Eng. Michele Tedesco was carried out by
Comm. Mario Carlutti contracting firm.
SIL S.p.A. and Mr. Dalmas - who became world
champion inboard motor boat race class in 1972
- sold the wet dock to the enterprise guided by
Mr. Renzo Ardito.
In 1982 a project to increase the berth number
up to 400 and more has been undertaken by
Arch. Aldo Bernardis and Arch. Ferdinando
Anichini and carried out by Eng. Zuffa building
Co. of Mestre.
Marina Uno tourist port was completed by
floating docks, modern technical services
directly operating on berth site, rest rooms, port
managing offices, parking lots, etc.
In spring 1983, Marina Uno puts on the present
day look.
In 1983, on June 25st, Law. Antonio Comelli,
President of Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, sided
by various chairmen of the region, by Mr.
President of Udine Provence, by Mr. Steno Meroi
Major of Lignano, by Capt. Riolo Vinciguerra
Monfalcone harbour master-office and many
other authorities, inaugurates Marina Uno at the
presence of more than 3000 people.
The ceremony was lighted by spectacular
passing flights of "Frecce Tricolori", the Air Force
national acrobatic patrol. On the same day
"Udine 1000" shooner head by Mr. Luigi Paderni,
the present harbour-master, under sailed an
Ocean crossing directed to Venezuela.
In the following years, the port complex was
expanded by building "Marina Uno" Hotel,
a swimming pool, two residential and commercial
blocks, a newboat-storage workshop equipped
with two new davit cranes, etc...
During these years Marina uno has undertaken
a maintenance program in order to:
- rationalize the number of berths according to
the increasing wideness of vessels;
- replace wooden poles with galvanized
steel poles;
- increase the number of rest rooms
for transit sailors;
- upgrade the safety standards;
- optimise the waste collecting system.
Marina Uno started "Consorzio Marine Lignano"
Association, which is situated close by Lignano
Sabbiadoro Tourist-board and gathers all the wet
docks located in the tourist district.
Since 1990, when European Community
introduced the "Blue Flag", Marina Uno has been
appointed every year with this particular award,
as recognition for the services and job quality
granted.
In 1997 Marina Uno, still maintaining its
managing and organisational autonomy, became
part of Lignano Pineta s.p.a. Holding.
In 1998, Dr. Giorgio Ardito was appointed
managing director of Marina Uno tourist port.
In the same year Marina Uno got the
membership in the Adriatic Tourist Port
Association which gathers over 30 tourist ports
from Friuli Venezia Giulia up to Puglia region.
In 2001 the Lignano local office of Italian Naval
League was established at Marina Uno.
